ABOUT US
That simple idea is what sparked No Sugar, Suggah!—a space created out of both frustration and inspiration.
For me, it all began with a personal journey. I was reflecting on my appearance as I grew older, with a sincere wish to age gracefully. At first, it might sound a little vain, but I’ve always believed that how we present ourselves can shape how the world perceives us. What I didn’t expect, though, was that these choices would also deeply improve my health.
The turning point came during a lunch with a dear friend. He’s 15 years older than me—well into his 70s—and yet, he’s full of life: traveling the world with his wife, hiking in South Africa, even visiting Antarctica twice. Over our meal, he told me about his decision to cut out added sugars, and how it helped him lose 25% of his body weight. Hearing his story made something click. Suddenly, my goal of becoming a healthier, better version of myself didn’t just feel like wishful thinking—it felt possible. From that moment, I committed to change.
But once I began, I quickly realized: cutting out sugar wasn’t easy. Added sugars seemed to be everywhere. Not just in desserts, but in everyday foods like ketchup, salad dressings, seasonings, and even bread. I spent countless hours at the grocery store scrutinizing labels, often leaving frustrated, empty-handed, or with products that didn’t quite measure up.
That’s when I thought—there has to be a
better way.
